Today’s Scripture: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

In our culture today, there is much talk about fake news or news that is misrepresented. As I observe, I see that most news organizations tend to have a liberal slant. Undoubtedly, Hollywood has a liberal slant. This bias is against conservatism, evangelicalism, and people that believe the Bible. That bothers me.

I am also bothered when any network, liberal or conservative, twists the facts to fit their beliefs. It is a dangerous thing to bend the truth to make us, our group, or our position look better.

We do this very thing in our personal lives. Consider social media. What do we post on social media? We only post the good stuff – the things we want others to see. We all have this tendency. We want to make sure people see the best of us.

What does God have to say about fake news, alternative facts, etc.? In Proverbs, God shows the importance of truth.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.  Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Proverbs 30:5‑6

The Bible is true. It is pure. Adding anything to the truth is a lie.

Are you tired of fake news? Are you tired of people claiming to never put a spin on a story, even though they always do? Then go to the Bible. It states the truth: the good and the bad. It doesn’t sugar coat things. It says it as it is. Get a break from politically correct “alternative facts” and spend time in your Bible. There is no fake news in God’s Word.
