Today’s Scripture: Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Psalm 107:6-8

People raced through the doors as thick black smoke and flames leaped out from the apartment building windows. When the firetrucks arrived, a mother shrieked in horror as she told the firemen that her daughter had gotten trapped by the flames. The firemen stormed into the building and searched for the little girl. Soon, she was outside with her mother.

Just as the little girl was rescued from the fire, we have been rescued from an eternal fire. There was nothing we could do to save ourselves, but He gave His life that we might be saved. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, we have been delivered from Hell. That itself is enough reason to praise Him.

We could never praise Him enough for what He did on Calvary, yet He continues to deliver us each and every day. We face trials and difficulties that would overwhelm us without His deliverance. He provides a way of escape from temptation and a shelter in the storms.

Our God is immutable (unchanging). Just as He has delivered us in the past, we can rest assured that He will be with us through whatever troubles we face today. Spend some time thanking Him for His deliverance today.
