Isn’t It Great to Be in the Family?

Have you ever sung the hymn, “I’m So Glad I’m a Part of the Family of God” and really thought about what it meant? As believers we are part of God’s family and have the hope of an eternal home with no sorrow or pain.
In today’s society, the word “family” does not mean much anymore. Most families are broken and hurting. But friend, as Christians we can invite the lost to become part of a new kind of family — the family of God.
One of the greatest blessings that comes with being in God’s family is freedom — freedom to talk to Him about our struggles, freedom to ask Him for wisdom without feeling ashamed, freedom from eternal judgment in Hell, and freedom from the power of sin. Yes, it’s great to be in the family.
But you know as well as I do that freedom isn’t free. America didn’t become a free nation because other countries thought we were nice people. We have had to fight for our freedom. Many American soldiers have died so we could enjoy this God-given right. The wonderful freedoms we have in God’s family weren’t free, either. Jesus paid the ultimate price — He gave His life — to free us from our sins.
Here at Victory In Grace, we have a special opportunity to win souls to God’s family. We are grateful to see people trust Christ as their Savior through our broadcasts every week.
As we seek to build up the family of God by reaching the world — one soul at a time — we will maintain our commitment to proclaim the truth of His Word. We praise Him for the freedom He has given us to do this, and we hope to keep going until the Rapture. But we need your prayers. If you pray for us, others will continue to find hope for eternity and spiritual freedom through the gospel outreach of our ministry. Please pray and keep the family growing.
Grateful to be in the family,
Dr. James A. Scudder
