Dark Is The Stain

Today's Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Dark is the Stain that We Cannot Hide. What Can Avail to Wash it Away? Look, There is Flowing a Crimson Tide. Whiter Than Snow You May Be Today.

Those are the beautiful words to a verse of one of my very favorite songs, Grace Greater Than Our Sin. Aren’t you glad that God’s magnificent grace was infinitely greater than our sin? That is the message of the passage we’ve been studying the last couple of days.

The Apostle Paul gives a litany of the worst abuses and basically asks, “Did you know that none of these people can get to Heaven?” And when we take stock of ourselves, there are none of us who have not committed one of those offenses. And yet the next verse spells out the great hope of eternity—God’s grace.

The stain of our sin was dark, but the crimson tide of Jesus’ blood has fl owed and washed it away. What an amazing reality that I wish every soul would understand.

Religion has told people that they are too bad to be loved by Jesus—too evil to make it into Heaven. But, God offers a grace much greater than all of our sin.

If you know Him, be encouraged by God’s grace. If you don’t know Him, look to the crimson tide.

Today's Quote:  The stain of our sin was dark, but the crim son tide of Calvary’s flood has washed it away.
