More from Julie in Israel
Yesterday we had lovely rain all day. When we got to Tabor, we ended up going into the church for our own service. But it turned into a wonderful time and that is so how God is. He takes things that normally aren't so fun and turns them into tons of the stuff. Then we zigzagged back down the mountain in the taxi's. After some delicious coffee which dearest Neal got for me (my valentine's day present-the way to a woman's heart is through caffeine) we traveled to Megido. It was still raining but it was fun going down into the water tunnel. Then on to the Jordan River for the baptism where the brave among us got baptized. It was really cold and raining and Dad is one brave man to do all the baptisms.
Today we had a special treat with the crusader fortress Bel Voir being especially beautiful as there was no fog. That is the way it is here, there might have been rain yesterday (which Israel desperately needs) but then today we have an absolutely breathless view from Bel Voir. And sometimes when we are there it is foggy.
Then on to Bet Shaan where Saul and his sons were brought to after they died and now to Qumron where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Then up, up, up to Jerusalem where we will hear Deidre Herriman's beautiful voice singing O Jerusalem. It has been a real treat having such a great singer with us on this trip.
