A Dalmation

Today's Scripture: Matthew 19:14
A few years ago, my daughter Julie bought my granddaughter Amanda, who was in kindergarten at the time, a book. She told Amanda to keep the book on a shelf and in a few years she would be able to read it. My grand daughter took that as a challenge and determined to learn to read this 5th or 6th grade reading level book.
She spent an entire Saturday sounding out the first page! One of the words Amanda learned was "author."
Later she was with her father selling tickets for a school fundraiser. At the end of her little sales talk, Amanda said, "Would you like to make an author?"
She meant "offer," of course, but the lady was so tickled she gave Amanda a donation. As they walked back to the sidewalk, Amanda said, "Daddy, I didn’t mean to say ‘author,’ I meant to say, ‘Would you like to make a Dalmatian?’"
Children are refreshing. They see things for what they are. Which is why Jesus compared the kingdom of Heaven to a little child. We need to approach life with this same joy-filled attitude. But this takes a conscious daily decision on our part because we are prone to worry, despair, and frustration. I encourage you to look at life from a child’s viewpoint today. Then you will discover fresh joy in your walk with our Savior.
