Rest from the Curse

Today's Scripture: Genesis 5:28

When Lamech held his son Noah in his arms, he knew that this was a very special baby. Noah’s name means “rest from the curse.”

The earth had been held in the curse since Adam and Eve’s sin, and Lamech knew that Noah’s life would have a very special purpose.

Noah went on to stand alone for God by building an ark of safety for any who would come into it.

Noah partially fulfilled Lamech’s prophecy, but Christ is the one who will totally lift the curse from the earth. When He comes to rule and reign bringing His saints with Him during the Millennium, the curse will be lifted off the ground, the animals will be at peace and there will be no sin.

Isaiah 11:6-7 states, “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.”

Noah, because of his obedience to God, was part of the bloodline of Jesus Christ. He was willing to stand even though only his own family believed him. Imagine what would have happened had Noah not obeyed God and done what He said?

Today's Quote:
It is simple obedience to God’s Word that brings results in the Christian life.
