Today's Scripture: John 12:26
A pastor’s answering machine message: “I’m not in right now, but I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. For a quicker response, please volunteer to teach Sunday School.”
Often, the “faithful few” do most of the work in churches. These are often the minority rather than the majority. These people do the behind-the-scenes jobs like washing the dishes after an event or cleaning the bathrooms. Thankfully, at Quentin Road we have many people who give of their time day after day. We couldn’t make it as a ministry without them.
Take Helen, for example. This wonderful lady sends our books and tapes to prison chaplains around the country. For many years she used most of her own money to do this. We have received hundreds of letters from these prisoners telling us that their lives have been changed forever because of the gospel message.
Don is another faithful volunteer. He answers the phones for Victory In Grace at almost every broadcast. His upbeat attitude and loving spirit bring joy to all who know him.
If you are working in your church, I commend you. I know your pastor appreciates all you are doing. If you haven’t considered helping out for awhile, then I encourage you to talk to your church leadership. There is nothing like helping do God’s work.

I ask only to be used. —J.H. Newman
