Can you hear me now?

Today's Scripture: James 5:16
An expert on whales told friends about some of the unusual findings he had made. “For instance,” he said, “some whales can communicate at a distance of 300 miles.”
“What on earth would one whale say to another 300 miles away?” asked a sarcastic member of the group.
“I’m not absolutely sure,” answered the expert, “but it sounds something like this: ‘Heeeeeeey! Can you hear me nowwww?’”
The idea of these commercials is that a certain phone provider works everywhere. I’ve had enough trouble with my cell phone to know that this is not possible. No cell phone I’ve had seems to work everywhere.
Aren’t you glad God isn’t that way? God can hear us wherever we are. He doesn’t need to give us a better connection or open up a new satellite. No, God already controls the heavens and the earth. When Jesus stood up in the ship on the sea of Galilee, He said to the wind and waves, “Peace be still,” and the elements obeyed immediately. So, why is it so hard for us to remember this?
Maybe your marriage could use some help or a family situation has you worried. Perhaps you’ve recently moved or changed jobs. Maybe you have a test looming and you are worried about passing it.
Remember, God can hear you now.
