Today's Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:58
Bits and Pieces told of a man named Ira Yates who, just before the Great Depression, sold a profitable but boring business to go back to the only life he knew—ranching. He bought a thousand acres of land in West Texas and life became neither boring nor profitable! Yates and his family endured years of droughts and economic hardship there. When it was rumored West Texas might be sitting on oil reserves, the struggling rancher contacted an oil company and offered to let them drill on his land. But they were too busy working in other parts of the state. Two more years went by before an oil company agreed to construct a test well on the Yates Ranch. Much to everyone’s surprise, Yates’s land sat atop one of the largest and richest oil fields in all of North America! And that’s how Ira Yates finally made his fortune.
Many people don’t hang on long enough for something to happen. This doesn’t mean that everyone will be rich and successful in a worldly sense, but perhaps you are working in a ministry and feel discouraged. Nothing seems to be happening and you don’t know if anything ever will happen. Don’t let life get you down. You have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for you beyond your wildest dreams. Do you need a dose of hope? Remember, He won’t let go of you.
Today's Quote: You may fail a thousand times, but success may be hiding behind the next step. —Bob Tyler, Football Coach
