Are you a Peacemaker?

Today's Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:22

There was a Christian school coach whose team played ours. He would stand up and scream every time a call didn’t go his way. He would angrily stride up and down the court telling the referee the type of call he should be making. But he would also yell at his players constantly saying things like, “If I was as bad as you kids are at playing basketball, I’d go home!” I had some little children sitting beside me watching the game. They said to me, “Boy, I’m glad he’s not my coach!” The thing about this man is that he was a very nice man off the court. He let the spirit of Christ make Him peaceable and gentle when he wasn’t coaching his boys. But he was blinded by his competitiveness to realize that we should let the spirit of Christ rule in us all the time.

Do you have an area of your life that you act like that coach? Are you gentle and kind in every other way but there is one particular aspect that you have never surrendered to Christ’s control? Perhaps you need to understand the mind of Christ. There is nothing greater than His spirit of peace.

Today's Quote: Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall never be unemployed
