Preserving Our Minds

Today's Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
Satan is out to deceive us...to torment us…to destroy us. He wants to keep us from the truth…because he knows that the truth—the truth of the word of God—when it is applied to our lives will set us free.
Satan can attack our minds but he isn’t omnipresent or omniscient as God is. He doesn’t know everything we are thinking.
But Satan isn’t the only one attacking. Our own flesh attacks our spirit. Our flesh constantly suggests alternatives to God’s way of thinking.
The world attacks our minds. Billboards, commercials, radio and television, all of these things are geared around humanistic philosophies that can destroy your mind.
In addition to all this sometimes we take the truth of God’s Word and twist it in such a way that it’s no longer absolute. We start thinking our specific situation is so special or unique that we are not bound by the same rules as everyone else.
We “reason” the truth into exactly what we want to hear. In our reading today, it says to “cast down imaginations”. This means “our reasoning”. In other words, what we reason with our flesh within our minds needs to be cast down.
This is why the weapons of our warfare are not of our own making but rather they are divine in origin.
Today's Quote:
If you keep in step with God, you’ll be out of step with the world.
If you keep in step with God, you’ll be out of step with the world.
