He Completed So We Can Finish

Today's Scripture: Hebrews 10:11-18
He closed the door behind him and wondered how this huge responsibility fell upon his shoulders. It was so important he risked losing his life if he failed.
And so he never took the job lightly. He stepped forward, and the massive room echoed as his sandals struck the hard, marble floor. He killed a sheep, then divided the animal in quarters and laid it on a large brazen altar. He ignited the coals and the flames quickly consumed it. After offering a prayer, he turned to leave. The priest’s work was finished … for today. But soon he must return. His work was never over.
Though man’s work never ends, Christ’s work is finished forever. He died on a cross, shed His blood and provided permanent forgiveness for our sins. His work finished, He arose to new life, and now sits beside His Father in Heaven.
You may be involved in missions overseas and feel the hardships never end. Or you might feel like quitting a stressful teaching job because you don’t get any respect. Maybe you wish someone more capable could assume your ministry responsibilities.
Your work will never end until the day you meet Jesus. But because His work is completed, He offers strength to finish your work … for today, tomorrow and the rest of your life.
