Today's Scripture: Acts 18:1-3
““While Paul was in Corinth, Silas and Timothy were still in Macedonia. The Lord knew Paul needed someone to uplift him in his ministry so He provided Aquila and Priscilla. These Jewish companions even shared Paul’s trade. Isn’t it wonderful when God gives us friends who have similar interests?
Friends are one of the greatest sources of encouragement God has given believers. Although we are supposed to be responsible for our own faith, we do need comrades to rely upon. Even the amazing Apostle Paul needed friends. Our text in Acts shows that the Lord provided Paul companions with similar interests. Paul’s friendship with Aquila and Priscilla illustrates that the Lord really does take our needs into account when He provides friends for us.
It is so helpful to have companions that share your faith and can uplift and encourage you on a daily basis. Have you ever considered how blessed you are with the friends God has given you? Why not let them know how much they mean to you by doing something special for them? Even if it is something as simple as writing them a little card or taking them out for coffee—let them know you feel blessed to have them in your life.
Life has no pleasure higher or nobler than that of friendship. —Samuel Johnson
