Problematic Payphone

Today's Scripture: I Corinthians 4:2
For weeks Jason fought a losing battle with the finicky payphone near his house. Despite several calls to the local telephone company, no one had come to fix it. Finally, a bright idea popped into Jason’s head.
He ran over to his neighbor’s house to borrow their phone again. He called the company.
“Hi, this is Jason. I called you last week. I just wanted to let you know there’s no rush for you to get out here. The money keeps returning from the change dispenser so I don’t have to pay for my calls.”
Within an hour the payphone was good as new.
In today’s society, many people work simply for money. In fact, when there is no money involved, many people are not faithful in doing their job. As Christians, we have a purpose for working aside from just earning money. We are stewards of the grace of God. Every time we go to work we should picture ourselves working directly for the Lord. In our text, we are told that as stewards, we are to be faithful.
Are you having difficulty keeping a good attitude about your job? You may be a parent who feels underappreciated at work and home. Perhaps you are a high school student who struggles with feeling overwhelmed by your responsibilities. Maybe you are a single adult stressed out by the demands of the corporate world. Remember, you work directly for God. He appreciates all you do. Stay faithful to the “Call.”
