Use Your Washer

Today's Scripture: Isaiah 26:3-4
“Mothers know well that dirty laundry does not do itself. Mud-caked soccer shorts and Kool-Aid-splattered jumpers do not hop into the washing machine of their own free will. They must be put there. Even after laundry has been put in the machine, it still does not clean itself. The washer must be turned on and loaded with detergent in order to get the job done.
Just as dirty laundry does not do itself, spiritual issues do not get resolved on their own. They must be dealt with. When we feel like we do not have peace in our lives, we need to do something about it. We read in our text that we need to trust God in order to have peace.
Peace is like a washing machine, we need to learn how to use it. We “turn it on” by trusting in the promises of God. We put in the “detergent” when we pray. We have to learn to trust that God is in charge and go to Him in prayer.
Have you been lacking peace in your life? Whether you are a mom on the go or a retired grandparent, you must learn to use the “washer.” Put your trust in the promises of God and wash away the worry. Spend some time writing down some of the promises of God and put your faith to work.
Trust in God and do something. - Mary Lyons
