Today's Scripture: Isaiah 6:1-5

Have you ever noticed how crucial correct vision is? When I do baptismal services, sometimes my glasses fog up and everything around me becomes totally blurred. In order to have clear vision again, I have to take my glasses off and clean them.

The simple fog which clouds my glasses reminds me of a pertinent truth we must understand about the Christian life. Our view of Christ has a major impact on the way we serve Him. When our spiritual glasses are fogged up, our vision of the Lord will be blurred.

Often, our glasses become clouded by the world. We allow little things into our lives like watered-down doctrines, social drinking, contemporary music, and chat room interaction. Yet we still feel we are pleasing God because we witness once in awhile and attend church on Sunday mornings.

The prophet Isaiah had a clear vision of the holiness of the Lord. Although he was one of the most righteous men recorded in the Scriptures, he knew he was completely undone and unclean compared to the King of Kings.

We, too, are unclean compared to the sinless majesty of God. Although we may feel we are serving the Lord despite the little sins, we should strive to serve our King in holiness through pure lives.

Take the time right now to clean your glasses. Ask God for a clear vision of His holiness.
