Itinerary for Israel Trip

Day 01 - Monday, USA / Israel
Our journey of a lifetime begins with a departure from Chicago’s O’Hare International
Airport. We will be fl ying on El Al Airlines, departing mid-morning. This afternoon we will stop in New York to join more passengers, then fl y directly to Tel Aviv, Israel. We will be served lunch, dinner and breakfast.
Day 02 - Tuesday, Tel Aviv / Tiberias
This morning after arriving in Tel Aviv, we will clear customs and immigration formalities and board our modern air-conditioned luxury motor coach. We will take a scenic two-hour drive to Tiberias/Galilee. We will have a beautiful stop along the way at Caeserea by the Sea (Acts 10 & 25). Then on to the Gai Beach fi ve-star hotel. This beautiful hotel is located
within walking distance of downtown Tiberias and is right on the Sea of Galilee. Our first of
many delicious buffet meals will be served upon arrival. Then we will unpack and prepare
to be pampered for two days in this wonderful hotel.
Day 03 - Wednesday, Sea of Galilee Boat Ride / Capernaum /Golan Heights / Caesarea Philippi
We will start this morning at a place that Christ knew well – Capernaum. This is where Christ spent much of His early ministry (Matthew 4:13). We will then proceed up the Golan Heights and drive to Tel Dan, the northern-most city of ancient Israel (Judges 18:29). Next we will see Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus and His disciples went for peace and quiet (Mark 8:27). We will then board a replica “Jesus Boat” for a sightseeing sunset cruise on the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Day 04 - Thursday, Cana / Nazareth / Tel Megiddo / Baptism Service
We depart Tiberias this morning and fi rst stop at the Cana-Nazareth overlook. This is where Jesus grew up (Luke 1 & 2) and performed His fi rst miracle (John 2). Then it’s on to Megiddo, an ancient city of King Solomon and site of Armageddon (I Kings 9:15; Rev. 16:16). We will then return to the Jordan River for a Baptism Service. Dinner and final overnight in Tiberias.
Day 05 - Friday, Bel Voir / Jerusalem / Western Wall / Rabbinical Tunnel /Temple Mount / Dome of the Rock
After breakfast and check out, we head out to the beautiful Crusader fortress of Bel Voir and it’s breathtaking view of the Jordan Valley. Then up to Jerusalem as we visit some of the most remarkable sites in the world! As we enter the Old City walls, we come upon the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) of Herod’s Temple. Beyond that lies the 35-acre Temple area purchased by King David (2 Samuel 24:18-25). On this site stands the magnificent Dome of the Rock (the third holiest site in all of Islam). We will have a fascinating time of discovery in the Rabbinical Tunnel Tour – where you will be underground looking at the actual foundation stones of the Temple Mount. Then we tour the Old City streets and see the ancient ruins of the Cardo. Then on to our next five-star hotel - the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 06 - Saturday, Pool of Bethesda / Upper Room / Mount of Olives /Gethsemane / Calvary / Garden Tomb
Our tour today will trace the fi nal days of our Savior’s ministry. We will see a beautiful Crusader Church; St. Annes, and the site of the pool of Bethesda (John 5). Then we go to the Upper Room, a place similar to the room of the Last Supper (Mark 14:22-25). Next we travel to the Mount of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. Here Jesus sweat drops of blood as He looked ahead at taking upon Himself the sin of the world (Luke 22:44). Also today will be one of the highlights of the trip - Calvary and the Garden Tomb. We will hold a special Communion Service here as we remember the sacrifice of the Perfect Lamb. Dinner and overnight at the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem.
Day 07 - Sunday, Day of Leisure / Museums
Today we have purposely set aside for you to explore on your own. This is time to collect your thoughts and indulge your whims. Revisit the places of most interest. Visit one of the fascinating museums or the sobering Holocaust Memorial. Shopping in the Old City is highlight for many. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 08 - Monday, Jericho / Ein-Gedi / Qumran / Dead Sea
After breakfast and checkout we will depart Jeruasalem and drive via the Jordan Valley. We will be able to see in the distance the famous Old Testament city of Jericho (Joshua 2 & 6; Mark 10:46; Luke 19:1). We will make a stop at Qumran and the caves of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Then on to Ein-Gedi. This lush oasis in the desert is where David hid from King Saul (I Samuel 24:1-6). This winding, moderately uphill path will take us to a gorgeous waterfall and wading pool. There is a good chance of spotting some wildlife. Then on to our third and final hotel of the trip – the remarkable fi ve-star Nirvana Hotel and Spa for dinner and overnight.
Day 09 - Tuesday, Masada / Spas / Jerusalem / Farewell Dinner
After breakfast this morning, enjoy swimming and fl oating in the Dead Sea, soak in one of the mineral baths, or maybe indulge yourself and purchase one of the spa treatments at the hotel. We have an extended checkout today, and lunch will be included and served at the hotel. This afternoon we will depart the hotel for a trip to the fortress of Masada. We will take the new, large cable car up for a visit to one of King Herod’s Palaces, which later became a Jewish landmark. Then its back up to Jerusalem for our farewell dinner. As we then head to Tel Aviv to catch our evening fl ight home, we can refl ect on the lifetime of knowledge we have collected in just a few short days. We bring with us lasting memories, a renewal of our faith and a greater understanding of the life and ministry of our Lord.
Day 10 - Wednesday, USA / New York / Chicago
This morning we arrive in New York. We will depart the plane which will give us a chance to stretch our legs and clear U.S. customs. After a couple hour layover, we will reboard the same aircraft for breakfast and our short trip back to Chicago.
