Can You Unplug?

Today's Scripture: Psalm 46:10
Chances are you’re reading this on some form of technology on the internet, in your email, on your PDA, or even listening on a podcast. If so, then what I’m about to tell you might sound contradictory.
Have you thought of unplugging your technology? I don’t mean tossing your cell phone or iPod or laptop in the trash. I mean finding time every day to get away from what some have called, “the firehose of information” and getting alone with God.
Technology is an important tool in our 21st century lives and to suggest abandoning it altogether would suggest being unfaithful to our calling as believers. Victory In Grace is constantly trying to seek the most efficient ways to spread the gospel thru technology.
Still, we often allow ourselves to be held captive by technology’s vice like grip. If we’re not careful, we become more plugged into gadgets made of man than into God. We can also become less social toward those God has called us to love.
Unplugging means getting our soul aligned with God in silent devotion. It means cracking open the Word and letting its life changing power permeate our minds.
So today, I challenge you: take some time to unplug.
