Christmas Traditions

Today's Scripture: Luke 2:1-21

Here is an idea for bringing Christ to your friends and neighbors this Christ mas. Have a "Christmas Traditions" Party. Invite unbelieving friends and neighbors along with some believing friends to a Christmas Party at your house. Mention there will be a time for everyone to share their favorite traditions.

Serve some special Christmas cookies. Then sing some of your favorite carols. Then ask different people to talk about different Christmas traditions they do with their family. Spend some time reflecting on those traditions and how they bring your family closer together. Then read from the passage you read today and say it is a tradition in your family to read the Christmas story the day of Christmas. Explain what the story means to you.

I believe this type of party will have a tremendous impact for Christ on your friends and neighbors. Many people don’t really understand the special significance that Christmas has for Christians. Although the stores are proclaiming that they have special hours for Christmas shopping and the malls play songs that don’t have the word Christ in them, we can take back Christmas and use it to share with others its true meaning.

Keep Christmas centered around the most important guest…Christ!

Today's Quote:  To perceive Christmas through its wrapping becomes more diffi cult every year. —E.B. White
