Are You Plugged In?

Today's Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12-28
Many years ago when I was beginning my ministry, I ran across some Christians who said that they didn’t really need church. They called themselves, “Christians-at-large.” They said they could do more for God outside the church than inside.
This attitude runs contrary to the way God designed us. We were created to live out our faith in community. We do that by being an active member of a local body of believers.
Let me ask you. Are you plugged into a local church? Or do you get all of your spiritual nourishment from books, radio, and TV? Those are all good sources of insight, but God’s intention is for you to be an active part of a good, bible-believing church.
You need to get plugged in. And I mean really plugged in. Don’t just come on Sunday morning. Join a Bible Study Group. Volunteer to help in some capacity. Even mentor a new believer.
Don’t live your Christian life in isolation. Live out your faith in the body of Christ. Not only will you fi nd encouragement and strength from other believers, you’ll also discover how your gifts and abilities can be best put to use for God’s work.
Today's Quote: Don’t live your Christian life in isolation. Live out your faith in the body of Christ.
