Is the Book Full of Holes?

Today's Scripture: Isaiah 55:6-11

A Siberian pastor shared his testimony with a group of American believers. During his teen years, the man struggled with many spiritual questions. Searching for answers, he found a set of “religious” encyclopedias— on atheism—but the Bible was quoted only to mock or refute its statements. Hungry for truth, the man eagerly copied every verse from the encyclopedia set by hand. He soon trusted Christ as his Savior! God had taken the selfsame verses used to refute His Word to bring salvation to a searching sinner!

The Word of God possesses tremendous power. Truly, it is a living Book! In Psalms, various references indicate its power to keep one “from the paths of the Destroyer…” (17:4), to stand against refutation (18:30b), and to create the very universe in which we live (33:6). In Isaiah 55:11, God said of His Word, “It shall not return unto me void.”

Why does God stake so much upon His Word? God considers Himself and His Word inseparable. Should His Word fail, His very nature could be brought to question. Therefore, we can trust God’s Word.

Are you facing circumstances where resolution seems impossible? Is God putting your faith to the test? Have you read His Word lately—it has all the answers. Go ahead and trust Him. You’ll be glad you did!
