Today's Scripture: Ephesians 6:12
Are you facing opposition today? We’re told in 2 Timothy 3:12 that every Christian who attempts to fully live out his faith will face opposition. It could come from your co-worker or your neighbors. It may come from a longtime friend or a relative.
If this opposition has gotten you down, let me help you with a powerful truth from God’s word. That person who seems to be fighting you is not your real enemy. You might say, “He sure seems like it. He opposes me at every turn.”
That may be true, but your real enemy is Satan and the world system. Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our battle is not against “flesh and blood” but against “principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places.”
People who oppose God are just tools in the hand of a powerful enemy, Satan. They oppose Christianity because the enemy has blinded their minds to the truth. That’s why Jesus said at the cross, “Father, forgive them. They know not what they do.” Jesus knew the real enemy was Satan. And it was at Calvary that the devil was defeated once and for all.
So you don’t have to fear the “flesh and blood” people who fight you at every turn. You don’t even have to fear Satan, because the battle has been won.
Keep your eyes on Jesus and His power and grace will sustain you.
