A Never-Ending Story

Today's Scripture: Psalm 45:6
Remember the story of Solomon? He was the wealthiest king in the entire world, who had hundreds of servants, thousands of horses and chariots, and over 900 women living in his palace. Solomon even had neighboring kings who paid tribute for the privileges of peace in their cities and protection from their enemies.
But how long did this peaceful state last? Not very long. Who can name all the kingdoms Alexander the Great controlled? Or how far Charlemagne advanced his borders, or any policies enacted by the great Caesars of Rome?
History repeats itself, and you will notice that most of these kingdoms only existed for short time periods. Not one of them endured; they just disappeared because earthly kingdoms do not last. Christ’s kingdom and His story never ends; only the things of God will last.
When we compare our lives on this earth to the glories of Heaven what we do every single day impacts the world for eternity. Even in our daily routines, whether we stop to get coffee before work, while pumping gas, or handing a tract to the grocery worker, each one of us makes a difference for the Kingdom.
So why not encourage a friend with a phone call or invite a co-worker out to church today?
