Is Your Glass Full?

Today's Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:1
Recently a teacher performed a science experiment in class and on the desk was a glass container crammed with rocks of all shapes and sizes. The teacher asked the class, “Is this full?” Yes, answered the children. Next, the teacher poured in a jar of white sand which filled in all the tiny spaces. The teacher repeated the question, again came the answer of yes. Then the class watched in awe as the container, which they thought could hold no more, was filled with water. “Class, is it full?”
This is a great example and illustrates the meaning of the word abound. It means to super abound, to be in excess, with more than enough to spare, or increase. Paul is saying that we should be like this container, brimming over with riches and blessings in the Lord.
Our lives should be stuffed until we can’t hold any more; to fill the empty spaces in our souls until we feel like bursting. God is waiting to pour His blessings down upon us, from the bounty that’s stored in Heaven.
Remember that God can fill your glass when you feel like giving up or need encouragement, so why don’t you take a moment and discover how full it is today?
