Standing on the Promises

Today's Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 3:7-8
Too many people today sit on the premises and don’t stand on the promises. Some might say, “I didn’t know that…you mean I can rely on God’s promises? Where can I find them?”
Well, let me tell you that there are some pretty amazing promises found in the Bible. It is God’s love letter to His children, and as believers, we can rest on these promises.
I know that these promises are true because there are great examples in His Word and He has done incredible things in my life.
Paul wrote I Thessalonians while he was in jail, and he told the new Christians that there were great trials ahead, yet they were not to give up. They took Paul’s words to heart and joy for both the new church and for Paul.
Their steadfastness intensified the pleasure of Paul’s living even in jail. How great a blessing it is to stand on God’s promises and bring joy to others, because standing on the promises is the best gift of all. Why? It’s the finest demonstration to bring others to Christ.
God rewards you and me with riches from Heaven when we stand up for Him, even down to the tiny things in our daily routines. Why don’t you take a second and determine to stand on God’s promises today?
Today's Quote: God’s promises are like the stars; the darker the night, the brighter they shine. —David Nicholas
