Today’s Scripture: Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13

Henry worked all week on the jigsaw puzzle he just recently got. The puzzle had a picture of a beautiful landscape. As he was putting the last few pieces in the puzzle, he realized that it had a missing piece. The piece was near the middle, ruining the picture. He realized that all his effort didn’t pay off and left the room discouraged.

That is the reality of some people’s lives. They spend their entire life living what is called “the American dream,” but their life lacks purpose. They might seem to have everything together; however, their life is missing that very important piece. Without purpose, they remain discouraged and hopeless.

Henry would end up looking everywhere for his puzzle piece: under the table, on nearby counters, in the couch, and in the fridge just in case. You may be in this position spiritually. You have looked everywhere for fulfillment in your life.

We all have a desire for fulfillment, but sadly most don’t know where to look for it. Christ is the only source of hope and the only One Who can fill the hole in your life. It starts with salvation, but it does not end there. Your life will still lack purpose if you are ignoring God’s will and choosing to “serve God on your own terms.”

I want to challenge you to follow Christ’s leading in your life and see if you will find that missing piece. If you don’t know where He is leading you, just keep studying His Word, praying, and staying active in your local church.

Eventually, Henry found the piece, but he put the puzzle back in the box before he found it. He never saw the whole picture. God’s purpose for your life will become evident. Will you be able to fulfill God’s will, or will you quit before you find His will? Don’t quit when His will isn’t obvious. If you do, you will miss out on God’s fulfilling purpose.
