Today’s Scripture: There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12

A preacher went to visit a family at their house one Sunday afternoon. The entire family was caught by surprise, but the mother tried to put on a quick demonstration of piety for him. She gently told her children, “Why don’t you go bring our favorite book for the pastor to see?” She said this, hoping they would bring the family Bible. Instead, in youthful innocence, they brought just what she had asked for—the JC Penny Catalog!

When we are outside of the will of God long enough, it becomes evident in our lives. Whether we miss regular church attendance, our prayer lives are falling apart, or we suddenly have difficulty dealing with the mini-crises of life, others will notice—and in turn, be influenced.

The perfect will of God is revealed to us through the Word of God. As we go about our lives, we need the truths of Scripture to keep us on the right path. Failure to abide by these truths leads to a life out of sync with God’s will. The Word makes it clear: “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). The choice is yours: To be, or Not to Be in God’s Will—Answer the Question!
