Today’s Scripture: Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. John 12:24

In the Garden

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses

And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known.

Have you ever taken the time to concentrate on those words? It is so true that when we take the time to focus on Him, He will give us more joy than we can imagine. Sometimes as humans, we find it hard to be alone, but there is a secret to not being lonely. The secret is learning to die daily. Only after daily submitting your life to Him will we realize that we do not always need to have someone else with us. As Christians, we need to learn that sometimes we just need to spend time with the Lord alone.

Are there times when you feel lonely, and you just wish that you could have someone else there with you? Why not take those moments and use them as a special time to draw closer to God. Perhaps you could sing hymns that are special to you or read a Psalm. ‘Time alone’ can be the most comforting time in your day if you spend it with your Savior.
