Unless he perfectly fulfilled every ID test, the secret agent would be dismissed as an imposter. David Greenglass was an infamous American who defected and gave atomic secrets to the Russians during World War II. On the day he was to meet a Russian agent and divulge his information, Greenglass followed a detailed six-point checklist to establish his identity. The plan worked, and Greenglass’ treacherous act was completed.

With only a six-point checklist, the Russians were able to remove all doubt that they were dealing with the right man. Each fulfilled requirement narrowed the margin of error until it was close to zero. God has given us far more than six marks to identify His Son, and a far greater reason than figuring out if someone is willing to sell their secrets to the Russian government.

The Bible contains thousands of prophecies which describe one man. His name is Jesus.

Here are several of the 333 prophecies Jesus Christ fulfilled by His birth, life, death, and resurrection:

  • He would be born of a virgin (prophesied in Isaiah 7:14; fulfilled in Matthew 1:18-23).
  • He would be a performer of miracles (prophesied in Isaiah 61:1-2; fulfilled in Luke 4:18-19).
  • He would be sold for exactly 30 pieces of silver (prophesied in Zechariah 11:12-13; fulfilled 500 years later in Matthew 26:15; 27:5-8).
  • He would die by crucifixion (prophesied in Zechariah 12:10 and Psalm 22; fulfilled in John 19:36-37).
  • He would be buried in a rich man’s tomb (prophesied in Isaiah 53:9; fulfilled in John 19:38-42).
  • He predicted His own resurrection (prophesied in Matthew 16:21; fulfilled in Luke 24:6-7).

If the Word of God is true concerning the Person and work of Jesus Christ, then my friend, you can be certain of its truth in your life. Take hold of its promises to you today and let them convince you that your God is the Real Deal.

Only the supernatural mind can have prior knowledge to the natural mind. If then the Bible has foreknowledge, historical and scientific, beyond the permutation of chance, it truly then bears the fingerprint of God. — G.B. Hardy
