Today’s Scripture: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10

Is climate change real? It is interesting that we call this phenomenon climate change. We used to call it global warming. However, we don’t call it global warming anymore is because we had some really cold winters!

I may not be a scientist, but I can observe. I know the volcanic ash coming out of a volcano changes the climate, but the things humans do are rather insignificant when compared to volcanic eruptions.

I believe we are God’s stewards of this planet, and we should not pollute. I enjoy the outdoors, fresh air, and clean lakes. Pollution is very irresponsible. However, what is sad to me is that we spend all this money and effort to save the environment, yet we do not invest our resources in protecting unborn lives. We are being so careful with the environment that we are not protecting human life.

I encourage you to watch our Moments In Grace about climate change. I go over some numbers illustrating how much we spend on preventing climate change, and how much effect it would have on the climate. We are spending 20 to 45 billion dollars for every tenth of a degree Fahrenheit we try to lower the global temperature.

Another interesting thought is that the Bible talks about the world being judged by fire. When that day comes, all the money and time spent on climate change will be wasted. This earth is going to burn! We ought to be concerned about this “global warming” coming in the future.

God is serious about judgment. God is patient and forbearing because He is not willing that any should perish, but there is an end to His patience. Have you accepted His gift of salvation? On the cross, Christ bore the wrath of God which we had earned. If you trust in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection to save you from your sins, then you will be saved for all eternity! That is the only way to prepare for “real global warming.”
