|Today’s Scripture: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11|
Evolution claims that we are just an accident resulting from billions of years of mutations. They state that through this process, life was created from non-life and continues to increase in complexity with each new life form. According to their theory, there is no meaning to life because we are just an accident. We will live and die, and there is nothing besides this hopeless, pointless existence.
However, God’s Word tells us God created us for His glory. He created the world, but then formed man in His own image. After creation, we fell into sin when Adam and Eve disobeyed, but God made a way to redeem us. We were created by God with the purpose to have fellowship with Him.
These two viewpoints have contrary views of the value of life-one believes life is an accident that has no special meaning, while the other sees that life was created specially by God. The perspective we take will have an enormous impact on how we see the world.
The world looks around and believes it was all made by accident with no basis for right or wrong. God tells us He created the world, and then told us how to live. The world refuses to accept this because they don’t want to be responsible to a Creator. Our disobedience to Him is sin which separates us from Him.
As sinners, we are destined for Hell, unable to save ourselves. However, God loved us so much He sent His Son to die for us that “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Salvation is freely offered to all because God is “not willing that any should perish” (2 Peter 3:9).
We have been given the responsibility to share the gospel with the lost. They are hopeless and their lives are meaningless without God. Let’s bring them the truth and show them that life can have meaning.
