Today’s Scripture: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
The blistering sun beat down upon Aaron’s Jeep as he drove along the African plains. He stopped suddenly. What he saw had to be a mirage. A few miles ahead of him, there appeared to be a pygmy standing upon a huge elephant which lay dead on the ground.
As he drove closer, he realized the comical sight was real. “How on Earth did you kill that enormous creature?” asked Aaron.
“I killed it with my club,” replied the pygmy.
“You took down that elephant with only a club? How big is your club?”
“About 60 people.”
One pygmy could never take down an elephant by himself. Likewise, there are many things you and I cannot accomplish for Christ on our own—like holding a revival meeting or running an addictions program. However, these things can be accomplished through the body of the church.
There is power when we work together. God’s power works in us above what we can imagine. He is to be glorified through us, not only as individuals but also as members of His church.
Why not find an area of your ministry where you can lend a helping hand? By working with other brothers and sisters, you can accomplish great things in the body of Christ. You will be amazed at the elephant-sized projects you can tackle as a family of believers.
