Don’t forget the beginning of the verse you read today. It says to flee! Some people say, “I can handle just a little bit of worldly living.” If the Bible is against it, then you need to be against it. Even if you feel a little isn’t a bad thing, it will still taint you and your testimony as a Christian. The Bible doesn’t say to fight temptation but rather to flee it.

So many people don’t want to live a godly life. They don’t want a Christian life full of peace and joy. They seem content to live on the fence with one foot in the world and the other foot on Christ. This person will never be content in his or her Christian life.

You will never have peace without a holy life.

One soldier’s grave said, “Here lies a soldier whom all must applaud. Who fought many battles at home and abroad. But the hottest engagement he was ever in was the conquest of self and the battle with sin.”

Is the battle with sin your biggest struggle, Christian? Rest content in the knowledge that when you flee you will have peace. All Christians have fought this battle and fight it daily. You aren’t alone.

True confession results from a heart broken from sin. — Unknown Author
