“Foolish and unlearned questions” can make us stagnate in our Christian life. I don’t know how many times I’ve had brand-new, excited believers stop serving Christ because they came across a spiritual question for which they couldn’t find an answer.
Do you know there are many things in the Bible that I don’t understand? How could I possibly understand the mind of God? As the years have passed, my understanding in the Scriptures has gradually increased; but I could study my whole life and still not learn all there is to learn.
Here is a piece of advice that I received in Bible College: If there is something about the Bible that you don’t understand and it is really bothering you, take a moment and write it down. Then try to find someone who can answer that question for you. You can even email me at Victory In Grace, and I will try to answer it for you. But if no one has an answer to your satisfaction, then keep going in your study. Maybe as you study more of the Bible the answer will come to you. But don’t let something you don’t understand keep you from growing in your Christian life.
