After church where she had been taught about the Lord’s return, a little girl was quizzing her mother. “Mommy, do you believe Jesus will come back?”

“Yes.”

“Today?”

“Yes.”

“In a few minutes?”

“Yes, dear.”

“Mommy, would you comb my hair?”

While many of us can say that we look for the Lord’s return, I doubt we do it with as much anticipation as that little girl. And yet we should. It is our blessed hope to be with the Lord Jesus. Whether this event will occur within our lifetime, we can only speculate. But we know one thing for sure; the Rapture will happen, and we need to be ready! The Bible says it will happen “in the twinkling of an eye.”

Are there some things you need to change about your life in light of our Lord’s soon return? Perhaps you’ve allowed yourself to wander away from church. Church attendance just doesn’t seem as important in your life as it used to be. Maybe you are watching some things on television that are not honoring to the Lord. You could be neglecting your quiet time in studying the Word of God. Perhaps your prayer life needs a tune-up. Whatever the case, remember that it is a joyous thing to anticipate Christ’s return. Maybe it’s time to go comb your hair!
