Today’s Scripture: But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 2¬†Timothy¬†2:23

Just because I don’t understand all the inner workings of a car, doesn’t mean that I don’t take advantage of driving. In the same way, just because I don’t understand all there is to know about computers, doesn’t prevent me from using one regularly and appreciating what it has done to make life easier.

It is the same in the Christian life. You will never understand all there is to know about the Word of God. As you grow in the Christian life, you will learn more and more. You will also love and appreciate the Word of God as you grow as a Christian.

A man once said, “The over-curious are not over-wise.” Many times the one who is constantly asking questions doesn’t really want to know the answer. Don’t let the person who always has constant questions make you think they are wise. Many times those people don’t really want to learn the great truths of the Word of God. They are content to get hung up on a stupid question. They aren’t willing to write their question down and lay it aside their Bible so that it can be answered as they grow in their Christian lives. If only they would be willing to do that, they would find that God would reveal the answer in a miraculous way, but it won’t be exactly the answer they were expecting.

The word “strife” in this verse means battle, controversy, and fighting. These are all things I want to avoid in my Christian life. You should want to avoid them as well in order for you to reach your full potential as a believer.
