Today’s Scripture: Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:4

There were three Christians sentenced to die by the guillotines. The first one had the gift of faith, the second one had the gift of prophecy, and the third had the gift of helps. The first man laid down and did not want a hood over his face. Being a man of faith, he believed that God was going to allow him to live another day. Sure enough, as they pulled the rope, the guillotine did not come down. The man of faith walked away, and the executioner was amazed, believing this to be a miracle from God.

Next, the man who had the gift of prophecy laid down. He predicted that the guillotine would not come down. They pulled the rope, and again, the guillotine did not fall. This man also walked free, due to another miracle of God.

Finally, the third man with the gift of helps came. As he was laying there, he looked up and said, “Oh, I see the problem.”

If you love the Lord, serve the Lord, and obey Him, eventually, your gift will be made known. (It just might be at the very end of your life.) Just to be sure that I am clear, I believe that the sign gifts (tongues, prophecy, healing, etc.) have ceased. The point that I want to make is you don’t need to try to figure out your spiritual gift.

The diversity of the gifts is incredible. I do not believe that the Bible lists all of the gifts because each list in the Bible is different. Just as today’s text says, there are many different types of gifts, but the same Spirit gives them all. It is for one unified purpose that God gives each of the gifts.

Stay faithful serving God, and He will put you in a position where you will be able to use the gifts He has given you. You don’t need to figure out your gifts so you can use them; you need to be faithful, so God can use them.
