Today’s Scripture:And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
Jesus – there is just something about that name. The very name of Jesus means “God saves.” Jesus is the Savior of all mankind. Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Do you believe that Jesus lived up to His name? You may be like some who think Jesus lived up to His name, but have a backup plan. You may think that you must be good to obtain, keep, or prove your salvation. However, Jesus lived up to His name completely. You do not need to help Him out, and you do not need a backup plan.
In fact, if you are relying on your works, you are NOT trusting in Jesus! Now you have added your own name whereby you must be saved. Because Jesus lived up to His name completely, if you have put your trust in Him, you do not need to worry about losing your salvation. Why? Jesus saved you, and it was finished at the cross. If a man saved another man from drowning, and then threw him back in the water, would he be a savior? No! He would be a murderer.
Jesus is no murderer. He doesn’t save people and then put them back in a hopeless condition. Jesus’ name is a reason why we can be sure we are saved from Hell. “God saves!” A perfect God gives a perfect salvation. There are no partially saved people, and there are no temporarily saved people. God’s perfect salvation is offered to all, regardless of their sins that currently have power over them. All sin was paid! Believe on the name of JESUS.
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may
know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
