|Today’s Scripture: As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. Psalm 18:30|
|Aren’t you thankful God always keeps His Word? God fulfilled His promise to Abraham through his grandson, Jacob. After Jacob’s family settled in Egypt, God blessed and multiplied the Hebrew people until they swelled into a great nation.
However, God’s work often invites opposition. A new Pharaoh viewed the Hebrews as a threat to the security of Egypt. He enslaved and afflicted them, hoping the rough treatment would curb their growth, but God continued to bless and multiply them. The Pharaoh was powerless to arrest God’s blessing upon His people. Friends, when God is for us, no one can stand against us.
When God promises, His Word always comes to pass. Men may scheme and plot to defeat the promises. They may injure and abuse the bearers of God’s promises. The passage of time and our mistakes may appear to delay their fulfillment, but the Word of the Lord shall come to pass. This means you can claim His promise never to leave you when it seems like everyone else has forsaken you. This means you can claim His promise to supply your needs when your car breaks down or you don’t have enough money to make your mortgage payment.
God gave His children promises that we might claim them. Resolve to keep going, difficult as your circumstances may be. You belong to Him, and He will take care of you.
