Today’s Scripture: For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4:6-7

Do you desire the power of the Holy Spirit in your life? D.L. Moody said, “I believe firmly that the moment our hearts are emptied of pride and selfishness and ambition and everything that is contrary to God’s law, the Holy Spirit will fill every corner of our hearts. But if we are full of pride and conceit and ambition and the world, there is no room for the Spirit of God. We must be emptied before we can be filled.”

Many men of God have been so influenced by the Spirit of God that lives have been transformed at their very words and prayers. What was the key to their tremendous power? Is the same Spirit living within us today, or did these people have more of Him in their lives? How can we experience this power?

First of all, we get all of the Holy Spirit the moment we are saved. We will never get more or less of the Holy Spirit in our lives. But He needs to get more of us. He works best with willing, submissive vessels. Those who have experienced the power of the Spirit in their lives and their ministries have humbly submitted to His direction.

Do you desire the filling of the Spirit in your life? Empty yourself of besetting sins and allow the Holy Spirit to fill every corner of your heart.
