Today’s Scripture: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power. Ephesians 1:15-19

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us… (Ephesians 3:14-20)

Reading that passage of Scripture stretches our narrow perspective doesn’t it? The truth of the matter is, the more we stretch the more we grow. At times, we doubt God’s love. Life’s circumstances look bleak, and it feels like there is nowhere to turn. It is in that place that if we allow ourselves, we can experience God more deeply than we ever thought possible. Ephesians 3:20 says that our God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think. He is not limited to what we can see in front of us at this very moment.

None of us can truly fathom how good God is. Our salvation alone should be enough to cause us to stand in awe of His love for us. Before the foundation of the world, God knew everything about us, and He cared so much for us that He sacrificed His own Son so we could have eternal life. Consider that for a moment. How many of us would sacrifice one of our children or grandchildren to save someone else? When we start to realize all He has already done, we realize that our puny human minds will never be big enough to comprehend Him. But, we should strive each day to know Him more. God desires for us to know the deeper things about Him, and that is why He often allows us to experience circumstances that we cannot endure without His help.

Do you want to grow in the Lord today? Allow yourself to be stretched. Know that the uncomfortable feeling you are experiencing means that God is working in your life. Purpose to search His Word and seek Him in prayer so that you can know the hope of His calling and the greatness of His power in your life.
