Today’s Scripture: By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Hebrews 11:24-25

Moses had everything. Having grown up in Pharaoh’s house and been taught in all the ways of the Egyptians, he was set for a life of ease, wealth, and prestige in the most powerful nation in the world. However, Moses had also been taught about the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by his real mother.

Before him was the choice to identify with the Egyptians and reap all the benefits the world had to offer or to identify with the Israelites and suffer affliction with them. However, Moses saw past all the glitz and fame that Egypt offered-he saw that it was empty. Nothing it could offer would ever truly satisfy.

Moses saw the only way to fulfillment was through the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Though the world offered everything, it couldn’t deliver anything. Only God could give joy, happiness, peace, and purpose.

We need to remember that as well. It’s only when we come to a point where we realize the Lord is our only hope that we can be satisfied. Don’t be deceived by the draw of the world; it has nothing to give you. You will only be left with regrets of a life that was wasted.

Don’t look to the world for fulfillment. Though there is pleasure in sin for a season, it ends in destruction. Living for Christ is the only way to have true happiness and contentment. Seek Him today; you will find everything you need at the feet of Jesus.
