Today’s Scripture: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. IĀ CorinthiansĀ 15:52

Many of us wake up each morning as though we are guaranteed to awake to a thousand more. But what if this morning was our last? In the twinkling of an eye, we could all be caught up in the air. At any moment, we could be face to face with God. In other words, we will be taken in less than the blink of an eye. The way I see it, it will be more like the ‘twink’ of an eye. What speed is my term a ‘twink’ referring to? A ‘twink’ is the glint of light off of the eye, therefore, it is the speed of light.

Let me give you an idea of how fast this is. According to NASA, light travels at a constant, finite speed of 186,282.4 mi/sec in a vacuum. A traveler moving at the speed of light would circumnavigate the equator approximately 7.5 times in one second. In comparison, a jet aircraft moving at a ground speed of 500mph, would circumnavigate the equator once in 49.8 hours.

With that said, I think we should consider how ready we are for the rapture. What are some things that we should be examining in order to know if we are really living with eternity in view? Our bank accounts and our day planners are two good indicators of how we are living. We should all be looking forward to the rapture, but how many of us are ready to give an account for the things we have done in this life? We are to live in a state of eager anticipation, purifying our lives with the expectance of His return. How would we feel if He returned while we were in the middle of tearing down another believer or watching something on our personal device we wouldn’t want anyone else to see?

This world is not our home. Our citizenship is in Heaven as are our rewards for what we have done for Christ here on this earth. Are you living like you are ready for the rapture, or are there some things that you are hiding? If you think you have everything in order or you can put off dealing with the issues in your life, take a look at this video, and think again. Friend, what you decide to do with today matters more than you can fully comprehend. Choose wisely.
