“It seems almost unbelievable,” said Chicago Police Traffic Unit Commander, David Dougherty. “The officers, who have been in the radar unit for 20 years-plus, say this is the fastest speed they can recall.”

A motorcyclist from Calumet City, Indiana was ticketed for driving 160 mph on Lake Shore Drive. The officer flipped on his emergency lights to give chase, but he quickly realized there was no chance of catching the motorcyclist. A few minutes later, the rider was stopped at a red light and was pulled over.

The speeder had been going so fast that after the police finally caught up to him, they double-checked their radar gun and asked the cycle’s manufacturer if the two-wheeler could go that fast. The Honda Motor Company said it was indeed possible for the motorcycle to be going that fast and the police radar gun was correct.

“They don’t realize the peril they’re in when they’re traveling that speed,” the Traffic Commander said.

People that are living their life ignorant of God’s unceasing love also don’t realize the peril they are in. We need to share with them the verse from 2 Corinthians that says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

To go through this life and not accept the gift of God’s Son is beyond risky—it’s downright dangerous.

Won’t you take a minute and share God’s love with another precious soul today? Let someone know that God has sent His Son, Jesus, to die for them that they might have eternal life. It’s a sure way to turn peril into paradise.
