Israel is the mouse that roared. With approximately 11,000 square miles of surface area, she is one of the smallest nations in size, yet she casts a large shadow on the world.

You can’t deny the facts. In 63 years of national sovereignty, tiny Israel has become one of the most flourishing nations in existence. This is not only true in an economical and agricultural sense, but the country’s prominence also extends to her skill in various scientific endeavors. Israel leads the world in water conservation, geothermal energy, and the use of solar technology. Her technological advancements rival the United States. Israel also boasts some of the finest places of education available. The nation’s military is first-rate. Do you ever wonder why?

I can think of no other explanation for Israel’s rapid success than the fact God honors His Word. When God promised Abraham, “. . . I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing,” He did exactly what He said. 3,000 years later, God has faithfully kept His promise. (By the way, He will keep His promises to you, too.)

God’s promise carries implications for us today. He told Abraham, “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee . . .” If we wish to experience God’s blessing, then we must express our solidarity with His people. I believe God has blessed the United States because we have supported Israel—and He keeps His promises. Make it your priority to pray for the peace and salvation of Israel today.

There is a living God; He has spoken in the Bible. He means what He says and will do all He has promised. — Hudson Taylor
