Today’s Scripture: Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:104-105

Do you ever feel like knowing God’s will is some big, mysterious area of Christianity? Many believers are troubled because they think they must receive some important revelation of what God has for their life. But knowing God’s will is not a one-time event. Instead, it is a constant process-His will unfolds gradually.

We do not have to be fearful of missing God’s will because He has specifically provided a guide for us-His Word. Through His precepts, we can gain understanding. The Bible is like a glowing lamp which illuminates our way. From its light, we can make sure our footsteps stay on the right path.

God does not want us simply to go to church and guess at what He has for us to do. Instead, He wants us to seek counsel and guidance from Scripture. The more we learn God’s Word, the more we will know His will. With each well-lit step we take, more of His plan will be made clear.

Rather than trying to figure out God’s will in your own strength, allow the Scriptures to be your guide. Whether you are a high school graduate looking for the next step, or you have recently retired and are not sure what to do, trust God’s Word. When you let its light shine on your path, you won’t feel like you are lost in the fog.
