There are many misconceptions about the nature of the Holy Spirit. Most Christians believe in the Holy Spirit, but don’t allow His power to rule their lives. We think He is some sort of mystical being Who doesn’t do much to affect us.
The Holy Spirit is a Person, the third member of the Trinity. And He indwells us the moment we trust Christ as our Savior, staying with us until we reach the shores of Heaven. Ephesians 4:30 says that we are “sealed unto the day of redemption.”
He isn’t some mystical presence—He is a person sent to live inside of us, convicting us of sin and empowering us to fulfill the will of the Father.
What is the Holy Spirit’s job? It is to bring about Christlike change in our hearts. God loved us so much that He not only sacrificed His Son for our sins, but He also sent the Spirit to lead us in the ways of righteousness. He is the Agent of transformation, conforming us into God’s perfect image.
Now we have a choice. We can either reject the Holy Spirit’s work, or we can accept it. This is a daily choice. When we get up in the morning, we choose to walk in the Spirit or to walk in our flesh.
Pray today and yield yourself to the awesome, unlimited power of the Holy Spirit. You’ll be surprised at how your life can change for the better!
