If a car has Bondo®, it’s probably been in a wreck. Bondo® is a thick body filler used to repair damaged cars. People use the material to patch up blemishes on the body of a car caused by an accident. After they apply the filler, they sand it down and paint it to match the rest of the vehicle. Some mechanics are good enough to make it look like there hasn’t been any damage at all. The problem is, about six months later, the bond no longer holds. That’s when you see the car for the wreck it really is.
That’s not what sincerity is. It is to be without wax. It’s when you are who you are and there’s nothing hidden in your life. You’re not pretending or putting on airs. This is the lifestyle God expects of us.
Maybe your life is damaged or broken, and you’ve tried to be someone you’re not to cover up your embarrassment and pain. Friend, God loves you just the way you are. But only He can get you where you need to be. He wants to restore and use you in ways you never thought possible. Don’t try to fix your life with the Bondo® of hypocrisy and deceit, because it won’t last. Be real before God today, and He will bring healing. He restores far better than Bondo®.
You can fool some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. — President Abraham Lincoln
