He astonished the Jewish elders as He expounded the Scriptures in their synagogue. . . . He healed their sick. . . . Yet He left without a single convert. He wanted to do more, but couldn’t. Had the Son of God met a heart His love could not penetrate? Was He who had revealed the great mysteries of the Kingdom suddenly stripped of His power? No. The people’s unbelief hindered them from seeing the Father’s witness through His Son.

Jesus is able to “. . . do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think . . .” (Ephesians 3:20). He wants to do great things in our lives. “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9) The only thing standing between us and a greater revelation of Jesus Christ is our lack of faith. When His work is hindered in our lives, it is not because He lacks power but because our hearts refuse to receive it.

Are you getting in the way of God’s work in your life? Are you limiting Christ’s power as you worry about the mate He has for you? Does fretting about God’s will leave room for Him to orchestrate your circumstances for His glory?

Jesus wants to set you free to experience an abundant life today. Examine your heart for roots of unbelief. Determine you will trust God, and get out of His way. Let nothing hinder His mighty works in your life.
